Charging for School Activities

Educational Visits and Visitors

Throughout the year a number of educational visits and visitors are arranged. These learning experiences are invaluable in order to enrich the broad and balanced curriculum offered at St. James'.

Although compulsory charges cannot be made for these events, the Governors are in agreement with requesting voluntary contributions from parents. Although the school subsidises the cost of visits and visitors wherever possible, these activities can only take place if parents are willing to make a contribution.

However, in line with the schools inclusive ethos, no child would ever be excluded from any such activity on financial grounds.
