Mission Statement
To provide a high quality of education for all our children within a Christian environment.
At St James’, we aim to provide a secure, caring and stimulating environment in which children are encouraged to strive to do their best in all aspects of their development. We believe that courtesy, respect and concern for others are as important as high standards of achievement in academic work. To this end, we are determined to meet the needs of every child, celebrating the uniqueness of each child. As a Church school, we work hard to create a lively, engaging and purposeful learning environment rooted in the gospel values and a love of God in which children will thrive.
“Pupils are polite and articulate. Their behaviour in class and around the school and
on the playground is consistently good. They were keen to tell me how they make
sure that nobody is left on their own at breaktime and everyone in their school is
treated fairly and equally. Relationships throughout the school between staff and
pupils are warm and positive.” (Ofsted Report January 2019)
“Pupils have positive attitudes towards school and happily talk about things they
have enjoyed learning. The school’s curriculum provides them with a good breadth
of learning across a wide range of subjects.” (Ofsted January 2019)
