Vision

“We love because he first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19

We are a safe, loving, supportive, Christian family which values each child’s individuality and uniqueness created in the image of God. We nurture the talents given by God to inspire pupils to achieve and succeed, and foster a sense of awe and wonder of God’s world:

  • Form foundations of lifelong faith through Gospel values and sincere, meaningful prayer.
  • Guide Pupils to determine their own personal moral values, and a respect and understanding of other races, religions and ways of life.
  • Develop future citizens who cherish the world in which they live and their responsibilities within it.
  • A curriculum which has a breadth of experience and equality of opportunity for all.

A very warm welcome to you all! Thank you for visiting our website. I hope that you will gain an insight into the life of St. James’ by looking at the information we have shared with you.

At St James’, we aim to provide a secure, caring and stimulating environment in which children are encouraged to strive to do their best in all aspects of their development. As a school family, we believe that courtesy, respect and concern for others are as important as high standards of achievement in academic work. To this end, we are determined to meet the needs of every child, celebrating the uniqueness of each child. As a school, we work hard to create a lively, engaging and purposeful learning environment in which children will develop a love of learning.

As a church school, we enjoy close links with the church of St. James’ and believe that the Christian faith underpins all that we do in school and permeates all aspects of school life. This is clearly summarised in our motto, developed by the children, which states that we are ‘Growing in God’s love, learning as we go’ (Matthew 13 – Parable of the Sower). We have also identified seven core values. We believe these are fundamental to our children’s development within a multi-cultural, multi-faith school and that engaging with these values will help our children to become responsible members of the wider community.

At St. James’, we actively encourage parents to become involved in their children’s education. We firmly believe that home and school need to work in partnership for the benefit of the children. Working together as a school family, we can ensure that children are both happy and successful at school.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have anything to discuss, if you are considering registering your child for a place at St. James’, if you would like to arrange a visit to look around the school, or you would like any paper copies of the documents within the website.
