Year 2

Welcome to Year 2

“Growing in God’s love, learning as we go”

Our Class Governor is Rev J Balkwell

Hello and welcome to Year 2! The final year in Key Stage 1. This year Mrs Humberstone will be your teacher, with Miss Dawson supporting through the year. Now the children are at the end of Key stage 1, the children will be encouraged to become learners that are far more independent. They should enter the classroom on their own and start the first task of the day independently. We respect the children in our classes and expect them to show respect to all the adults and their peers that they encounter. All we ask is that the children try their very best.

Year 2 Information & Downloads

Things to remember:

PE – The children should have their P.E kits in school ready for their P.E days : black shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms, white t-shirt and their school jumper if it is needed outside.  Earrings should be removed and long hair tied up on these days before the children come to school.

Reading Books are needed in school each day.  Children will receive 2-3 books for the week based on their phonics work.  The children are expected to read a minimum of three times a week as part of their homework and we recommend reading the books more than once during the week.  The children also have opportunities to visit the school library throughout the weeks.  The children should always have their library books in school.

Homework Grids will be sent out half termly with their homework books and posted on Class Dojo.
